thanks for the very kind words chaps.
I've been pressing on.
Cockpit painted.
Nose area painted.
Engine painted, first coat anyway.
Do have the elevators in place as well.
Rudder and ailerons shaped.

I have been working on the belly of this bugger, these old kits have fit issues.
A lot of filing, sanding and a bit of shimming, all because it will be a bit upside down in front of the Mk XIV.
Also I did find a pair of Luft pilots so I am using and abusing one of them.
He never bailed out so I am assuming he was unable.

No time to check at the moment but I have a feeling the canopy jettison involved the rear piece as well. Could be wrong.

You could be right. Found these, one gun cam and can make out both mid and rear sections gone.
And a back-up print, climbing out with both sections missing.
A third photo looks like it can be jettisoned.
So it's time to crack on with saw, scalpel and sanding sticks!!!!!
