17th BG/34th BS: Squadron number 1-24, Reddy Teddy, No.13. Serial: 41-35007.
319th also flew 13's, two of them actually. 42-107537, shot down by AAA in '44. 42-107546 ran out fuel and crashed into a mountain, also in '44.

Great pic Keith! That's the French - registered Flug Werke 190, painted in JG2 markings, the one that came to Duxford the other weekend. Beauty isn't it?! Must admit, I had to look twice - my first reaction was 'Where the h*ll did you find such a sharp WW2 pic?!!'

That is the Bf 109 G-14/AS "White 13" of Uffz. Herbert Maxis, crash landed during Operation Bodenplatte while flying with JG 53. He was shot dead by US troops attempting to vacate the aircraft. There are a few other pictures available of this plane in better resolution.

It certainly wasn't very lucky for him.
