I actually predict a Belgium England final.
Don't rate Croatia that highly and Belgium are on a roll.
But then since England are going to win then they could play Godzilla XI don't matter.
It's coming home.

In all seriousness, and joking aside, England does have a very good chance of beating Croatia. I think it is actually a very even match, and both teams are hungry.

Of course the Croats are fed with better food, so they will be superior...:D

WC games over here in the US are not the same as in Europe for instance. I witnessed 94 in the US, and then 2006 in Germany. Totally different worlds.

It may be because of the vast distances, couples with a vast majority of a population who simply do not care, but it is just not the same.
Oh of course, there is no doubt about that. Although things are better than say 20 years ago. Especially with many European players now finishing their careers in the MLS. I have only ever been to Giants stadium once to watch an NFL game and i was really impressed by the size of the stadium and the atmosphere. It's a lot different to just watching from the living room sofa as is soccer in England. But i was especially impressed by how crowd trouble (football hooliganism) just doesnt exist inside the NFL. Everybody was very friendly even opposing fans. It's been a blight on the soccer game for a lng time but things are much better now. With cameras and less tolerence its almost been eliminated from the proffessional game now. Thankfully.

Humiliated at English hands...:lol:

Now I know he is smoking a crack pipe and full of it...:lol:
Damn, my secrets out! And btw its meth not crack. And no matter how clouded my judgement might be it doesnt change history. And history says you all tried it on and we kicked all you're asses back across the channel. God forbid we should ever be landlocked to our slovenly neighbours on the continent. It's ok, i understand it must be hard to understand seeing as we brought you all out of the dark ages and into the light :lol:

"Hooliganism" happens quite a bit here in the US actually between rival fans of NFL teams. I've seen it first hand many times at games here in the states. People even get shot in the parking lots, and stabbed in the bathrooms.

It just does not happen on the "mass level" as it does in Europe with organized groups of Hooligans.

As for atmosphere, as much as I love the NFL, I'll take the atmosphere of a European football stadium over it any day. The fans of European football celebrate and chear tgeir teams on better. Everyone is singing, large groups of people have drums and flags, the stadium is shaking from jumping up and down. You don't have that at NFL stadiums. At least not during the several dozen NFL games I have been to, or when I watch NFL every weekend on Sunday Ticket.

I miss going to Bayern München and VfB Stuttgart games, and Champions League games, as well as National Team games. Went and saw Italy play Germany back in 2001. Italy won 2:1, but damn was it a fun time, and great atmosphere.

You are right it does not change history of football. If you took off your rose colored glasses though, and actually stop taking the piss and therefore knew what you were talking about, you would know that both In Italy and Germany have the upper hand on England in overall record, and most importantly when the games count in major tournaments.

But we all know this is just your way of making up a fake rivalry for the needed recognition you feel England needs.

I am not going to watch the Belgium France game as watching a bunch of losers gets tiresome after a while.
Still not sure why Engalnd have not been given the trophy yet but we have to go through these pointless charades. Probably for TV advert revenue. No fake rivalry because Englamd has no rival.
Trafalgar, Battle of Britain, Waterloo, World Cup 2018.

Argentina has a strange place is the Scottish nationalist heart. Because of the Falklands War, the Argentine is victim of English imperialism.

Double whammy for the Scots then, given the woeful performance of Argentina in this tournament. They were pathetic.

Cheers

Steve

I am. they have a whole language of their own, which they have somehow conned more than half the world to use as their own, pretty badly most of the time. and don't the poms know it.

The lack of hooliganism at most premier league games was shown last year when Cologne played Arsenal in London. The Cologne fans were old fashioned noisy German football fans, the made a lot of noise and did a lot of signing and flag waving. They caused absolutely no trouble at all but scared the life out of a lot of Arsenal fans, they are no longer used to noise in a stadium.

I think the hooligans in any country are limited to specific teams/rivalries. In Germany for instance the worst team for this is Dresden. The team has even been forced to play their games without fans allowed in the stadium.

Most of the teams fan's are peaceful. Nürnberg can get a bit dicy when they host Bayern for instance. I have covered my Jersey when leaving the stadium because of their "Ultra Fans".

For the most part I think most fans for every team, in any sport are pretty peaceful.

What you describe with singing and flag waving is good natured fun, and typical of any Bundesliga game.

I'm still trying to figure out who actually is jealous of England as a whole in anything.

Anyone here feel jealous of England in any way?

:D

Certainly not in any culinary way. :D

Many years ago in Political Science class at the U of M the old stereotype joke was:

Definition of HEAVEN:
Chefs = French
Administrators = German
Police = English

Definition of HELL:
Chefs = English
Administrators = Italian
Police = German

Levity gentlemen, no offense is intended.
