German is a complicated language. I speak it fluently and still want to pull my hair out sometimes.

This is very true... the house of "Saxe-Coburg-Gotha" was changed to "Windsor" before/during WWI because it sounded too "Germanic".
I think the appearance of the Gothe bomber over London settled that issue.

wasn't called Zeppelin, he was called Gothe, Saxe Coburg Gothe to be precise. I wonder if the Germans chose the name as a joke.
Adolf Lancaster and Herman Halifax had similar issues in WW2LOL, missed that.

Ironic though, the "Three Lions" take that symbolism from Richard I who was progeny of William the Conqueror, a Norman. Ol' Bill used the 2 lion standard and his castle in Caen still remains.
That said, I'd like to see Belgium and Croatia... just to be different!

They are not actually lions, but leopards, a bit like Argentinas sports team being called pumas.
