I've actually had this book for a few years but recently re-read it. It's a real gem. It's written (with a ghost writer) by a Navy WWII Ordnance Disposal specialist. He spent the entire war in the Pacific. What's so great about the book, which has many excellent details of the processes, is really the "local color" of being on Guadalcanal and other inhospitable places. Since he (and his "crew") got access to all kinds of Japanese unexploded ordnance, they exercised their "free enterprise entrepreneurship" by making ash trays and a plethora of other souvenirs to sell. The descriptions of living in that era and locale are priceless. This book also funny. The author has a very wry sense of humor. It's a short book, just over 150 pages. Recommended highly.

Lawyers are the best cannon fodder.
I will agree with that. I bought it just because of that comment. New from Amazon US is cheapest. Delivery between 5 and 12 October means is not only cheaper but delivery is faster than the Aus supplier who claims to have it in stock and aims to ship in 2-4 weeks.
