Some more of the 35mm pile. Long story short I had to run though the place because the group of guys I was with had NO interest in old tanks. Philistines! This is all I have of that time. Otherwise I could have spent a month there loaded down with batteries and memory cards(which didn't exist back then of course). These were obviously before the place got carved like a Thanksgiving roast. Sad not to see everything in one place, glad at least almost everything found a better home not rusting out in the elements. Yes, the Jagdtiger is totally massive! Again all pixs by me.

Aren't they moving that museum?
As far as I know "bits"of the outside displays are still there like the big naval guns that can't be easily moved. The vast vast majority of pieces have been relocated to various other locations (Patton, Knox, etc.). I guessing that the main building still holds a lot of the smaller pieces but I don't know for sure. Can anyone else confirm?
Oh, you should have seen that place in it's prime. It went on for literally acres. Still, good so see that a lot will get the attention they truly deserve.

I DID see it in its prime, and what a site it was!
So you know what I'm talking about then! It was like the NASM without the paint...and lights...and full restorations...and airplanes, I suppose.
Still no better place to see everything. :thumbright:

Just a huge field of tanks on concrete pads out in the open, and then the one building with the prototype pre-abrams us/german tank out front. I thought if it wasn't there, it didn't exist!

Speaking of tanks - and this is a tank thread. What's this one? Popped up in a TV series...
