There certainly are and in keeping with the age old tradition the manufacturers have them attached to the sprue in the most inappropriate places. Detaching and spraying is going to br a bummer.There's some proper thin parts on those sprues.

Lucky you Terry, I'd have loved to just hear the engine ticking over let alone have a ride in it. I would love to get the Italeri Bugatti 35B model, but display room would be a problem.Somewhere, I should have some 35mm transparencies, taken in the early 1980's of one of these. A friend at the local Aero Club owned one (along with a Hispano Suiza and other exotic stuff), and gave me a ride in it. Great experience.
I should tell you that the fellow who built that model also designed it . He is Dave Cummins- retired Chrysler chief stylist. A very talented man.Now this is what I call modelling at its best. Your friend has my admiration and it is a beautiful car.
