Now THAT'S funny!Thought this was funny
Pretty harsh words. I wonder if he has another book in the works…I see your point, but are the Russians flying MiGs in this war? As far as I see, the Russians are flying Sukhois, namely Su-27/30/35 fighters and Su-34 strike/bombers.
On paper, the Su-35 looks like it can take on mid-range Vipers of the sort being removed from storage for Ukraine. Though this retired Lt.Col. suggests otherwise.

Former F-16 pilot says Russian Su-35 jets "junk" compared to U.S. plane
"Deep down, it's not that good of a plane," according to a retired U.S. Air Force pilot.www.newsweek.com
Forgive my if I missed it, but why 28 June?As long as Russian forces are within Ukraine's internationally recognized borders, Ukraine is justified in expelling the invaders regardless of whatever spin media puts on it.
My money is still on 28 June, for Ukraine to open a large can of whupass on Russian elements.
Next possibility. Putin is looking for a way out of this mess. Someone has to get the blame. Gerasimov and Shoigu "advised" me to do
this becomes the theme after Prighozin reveals the truth but stops short of causing bloodshed in Moscow as he is loyal to Russia and
the supreme leader (Putin).
Gerasimov and Shoigu are pilloried. Russia stops attacking in order to bolster what is already taken. Ukraine, if they attack can still be
played as the aggressive baddies and everything is sweet - especially once Russia can start selling oil and gas again (not?).
Absolutely. My post was from the perspective of feeding the Russian population the narrative rather than what the rest ofI'd imagine that throwing MoD under the bus would alienate yet another faction there in Russia.
The Ukrainians should, and probably will, pursue the advantage no matter what the Russians do ... and let Putin find time to lay blame on is own.

Not so sure about that.I think the Prig will be dead before Shoigu is unemployed.

There is a seemingly delusional disconnect going on in Russia which is why we have been seeing so many bizarre headlines
in the last year+. This latest effort is hard to fathom but on the other hand what we see as reality doesn't seem to come into it.
Not so sure about that.
This was a massive blunder by MoD and RF armed forces. They didn't see coming? The can't prevent happening? Putin was revealed to the world (and to the russian people) as extremely weak.
Can he trust Shoigu or Gerasimov any more? Even if he do trust them, can he allow to forget the failure and act as it didn't happen anything remarkable here? If he chose that, won't he apear even more weak?
Sure it could not be done right now but Putin can't defer the sacking for long. That could lead to another coup albeit the sacking could lead to one also. He's got to go with what he's got. As we say here in Tejas, it's not good to change horses midstream. Firing Shoigu or Gerasimov would only add weight to Prig's accusations and lend him more credibility.
Those two will be sidelined later, when the headlines are quieter, for this failure. But it won't be done now.
