Zelenskyy was on 60 Minutes last night. An excellent interview that I hope convinces some of the isolationist and dove politicians in the West to reconsider their defund/disarm Ukraine POV.

Here's the vid link, though I can't view it from Canada without a VPN.

He won't change any minds in the US because there's too much "STUFF" here in the US. It's just the way our game is played. One party supports him so the other will oppose him no matter good or evil. They literally do not care. Politcal power is all that matters in our system

Where that interview is important is every where outside of the US where they aren't infested by our mass media and it's desperation for a "horse race" between the parties. There it can perhaps impact opinion

I found some of the interviewer's questions naive or deliberate gotcha attempts.

Putin should have moved ahead on the planned naval base at Novorossiysk.

I Novorossiysk - Wikipedia

In 2003, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree setting up a naval base for the Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk. Russia planned to move the Black Sea Fleet with 80 warships and its headquarters from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk base in 2020. The Russian lease on port facilities in Sevastopol, which, though the main base of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, was part of Ukraine, was set to expire in 2017. However, in 2014, Crimea was occupied by the Russian Armed Forces during the 2014 Crimean crisis and as such the question of renewing the lease does not immediately arise.

A drydock and naval base outside of Crimea would be nice nowadays.

Meanwhile tomorrow, the US is building connections with Russia's southern neighbours, the 'Stans.

The leaders of five Central Asian states, including Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, are slated to meet with United States President Joe Biden on Sept. 19 in the first-ever C5+1 presidential summit.

That will just buff out…or not

This war is the worst disaster to befall Russia's navy since 1905. And the Ukrainians don't even have a navy.

If the Ukrainians can somehow manage to get a SSK operational in the Black Sea the Russians are in big trouble.

That's gotta' stick in Putin's craw.

A little duct tape, good as new.

Looks like Musk just made Mastodon and all the other rivals happy today so soon we will probably see very few Twit-X posts here.

Musk seems to be going off the rails. Should the US really be entrusting their space program to this guy? And it will be interesting to see into the next decade when every car is an EV if his Tesla brand survives - he's selling the essentially-identical three models for nearly ten years now, when the usual auto industry practice is to refresh your vehicle look every two to three years and do a total remodel every five to six years. Tesla's static design/look approach only works when you have a near monopoly, such as Henry Ford's mantra, you can have any colour Model T as long as it's black. An old article, but still insightful. Tesla is dying, and this is how it will end | Digital Trends

Tesla's worst enemy is Elon Musk. The serial entrepreneur has an affliction that many serial entrepreneurs have: Shiny Thing Syndrome. Mr. Musk loves to chase after new challenges and novel projects. Tesla is currently producing 3 different cars, wall chargers, charging stations, electric semi-trucks, photovoltaic roofs, and spearheading autonomous technology. Throw in the odd flamethrower, underground tunnels, and a new insurance product (not to mention Space X), and you see a leader not focused on doing the hard work of pushing his company through a crisis of scale, but a man obsessed with moon-shots and new projects.
