My father is 84 and has been on a slow decline for the past couple if years. He has left the house once expect for doctor visits the past 3 years. His three favorite planes or B25, AT6 and B36. So I finally picked this up and need to get busy.

I am almost your father's age and know how tough it can be. Your picture of the B 36 kit is a bit fuzzy and I cannot see what scale it is. About 15 years ago I bought a 1/72 scale kit of the same aircraft from a stall at an air show and gave it to my grandson. He made a good job of building it but unfortunately the decals (transfers to us oldies) were badly cracked from age and were virtually unuseable. It was a massive model. Good luck in building it for your dad. He will be delighted. Best wishes to him.

It is the new product run if the Old Revelle box scale B36. It is 1/184 scale. The wing span is 19 inches if I remember right. Released by Atlantis. Found out the B29 release has decals for FiFi. Hobby lobby just got it and this week it is 40% off. Might have to get one and the early model B25.

I was hoping my father would build it. He passed. He completed a level 1 kit of a B29 yearly this year. He grew up in north Texas. Sunday he was telling me about the sound they made. They flew low in groups of six. What a sight that was. Monster of a plane.

My wife was injured at work and had a total shoulder replacement. Also broke the hand on the other side. Lots of stress. Just started 2 months of therapy. This is my therapy. So I washed off the plastic and hope to start the build soon.

This is a fast build but I am taking it slow. To many thing to do. Could easily knock this out over the weekend. These older kits had raised images so the kids could place the markings in the correct place. I took the sanding stick to it. There is a lot of trimming to do. The tree is thick on the tail so I used the cutter on it. Trimmed up the tail but dry fitting does not good. Looks like there will be a nasty seem to deal with. No problems. The modelers on this site taught me how to deal with that.

There is nothing on the inside of this bird. I though about painting the inside interior green but since there is nothing there, I may just paint it dark gray to hide the emptiness. Before sanding and after.

Here is the front office. I may try putting in a floor, a couple of seats and instrument panel. Paint or no paint?
