A little more modern than WW2 however I was asked to post some pictures. Here for your perusal, spears, and or chuckles!

And for the old guys, picture number two, ID the two folks not in uniform...

Year was 1994

Picture 1 4 are over Kansas I think enroute to Red Flag. Tanking off a KC-10 (it has a seat for the boomer and a giant window). The yellow visor that is on top of the helmet is called a "high contrast visor". Similar to shooting glasses of the same color, good for enhancing visual acuity. They would give me headaches after about 30-40 minutes of straight use but it worked.

Picture 2 see above.

Picture 3 was on the ramp in Saudi after returning from Kuwait. The jet is 85122, a Mig killer from the Gulf War, in which I suffered a massive fuel leak in while over Iraq. We diverted into Kuwait international and didn't raise anyone on the radio until I was about two miles out and committed to landing (it's nice to have a radar so you can check for other guys in the pattern).

Cheers,
Biff

Outstanding photos, Biff...thanks for sharing them with us!

And I'm a little curious...how much did it cost to get your pic taken with Bob Hope?

Grau,

It cost the squadron a couple of free drinks at the Crow Bar (located in the 60th Fighter Squadron, AKA the Fighting Crows). I talked the Operations Group secretary, Gloria, into letting me do the honors. The first photo I had with him he is wearing a squadron hat, which he later appeared on TV wearing (he always seemed to have a USN hat on, so I talked my squadron Commander into "donating" four shirts and hats). They went to Bob and his wife, Wilie Nelson (which made the local Sunday newspapers cover in color) and the as yet un-named lady (it's not J.J.).

Cheers,
Biff

With my jet, 85118. The first USAF F-15C to pass 4k and 5k flying hours. When they fly well, they will end up retiring first...

With the original Flying Elvi (Elvis') at the Liberal, Kansas Airshow (those guys were in the movie). My plane leaked all it's O2, so we flew from there to Whiteman AFB at 10k to get a fill up. Last one is THE MAN! He cheered up a tremendous amount of soldiers in his lifetime!

Cheers,
Biff

I was standing in the bar, talking with the OG's secretary, and just asked... You would not believe the flak the boys gave me. They took the photo of me escorting her from the paper, copied it to a legal sized paper, put it over the urinal in the mens room, and they wrote some funny s--t! No slack ever!

And oh by the way she was a very well spoke, smart, funny gal!
