Here's the first picture from Chino. Five P38's warming up prior to taking to the air. What you see here, are 5 of the 7 flyable Lightnings left in the world.

great picture, must have sounded pretty good as well !

Actually the P38 is pretty quiet, as warbirds go. The long exhaust pipe that runs the turbo removes a lot of the staccato you hear on the other warbirds.

The P47 is also fairly quiet. That design too had a long exhaust duct to run the turbo (even if the turbo has been removed).

Great shot Syscom, I wish I could have met you there, I was seated in front of the P-51 "Jelly Belly". It was a beautiful day for the show, not really to hot. Syscom, Would it be OK to post some shots I took at the show here ?

Some shots from the air show, in the P-38 formation the 5th P-38, "Ruff Stuff" for some reason could not catch up with the rest of the formation Thanks sys for letting me put these in your threat.

Cheers, Merv

Unfortunately, this was the last air show for Rob Harrison "The Tumbling Bear" in his ZLIN 50LX. He is leaving the Aerobatic Circuit.

I heard them say last year was his last season so I am a bit skeptical at the moment that this will be his last season. If he doesn't show up next year I will believe that he has retired.
If he is still having fun and can pass his medical I think it would be a shame for him to retire. He does do some pretty amazing things with his aircraft.
