Last time I saw one of those was probably in the early 1960's, and I seem to recall it was very noisy, compared to the 'usual' stuff I was used to, such as Ambassadors and Dakotas.

I always have loved the look of the whole family of Convair twins but the 440/540 were my favourite. Lots of power and they had " the look" of being right.
 
Is there anyone out there who doesn't like Stearman's? I just finished a short book about 84 Stearmans being led over the hump to China in December 1945.
 
Always liked the big An2. Looks like that one is used for parachuting, judging by the rail above the door, used to form-up for a 'multi-way' before leaving the aircraft.
