There was a time when The Lone Star Flight Museum had one of every major US fighter and most of the bombers from WW2. For several reasons, the collection has been slowly sold off the past 20 years. Down to a SBD, F4U , B25 and a TBF. The new facility is wonderful but the two hangers are empty. Here are the current collection plus the planes on loan. Check in line and the link trainer.

Hanger on the left. Used all the battery waiting on Doc. I had to take a few shots and run to the car for a short recharge. I preferred Pacific Princess in USMC marketing than the Dolittle Raider. Really miss all the fighters. Here are the birds.

Both the 900 and 1000 flights were postponed due to light rain and low ceiling. The museum website said they would open at 9 and of course they opened at noon. I had to shot through the fense with the phone. Here are the early shots of Doc

I found a spot were I could slip the phone through the fence and get a side shot. I was in place for an hour when the flights started.

I was disappointed in the event. The weather was perfect all week. I did not bring my film camera because the word went digital and my father did not want to make the 90 minutes drive. Since I was there I might as well wait around for the museum to open. I started to take photos of the grounds. Not even a gate guard, only the NASA gate guard.

I know I have bored everyone at this point. But it gets better. So I took the shot and then Doc flew in frame. I manage to that three pictures. Doc was over the fight line over a half mile away. So maybe things are picking up.

About time for Doc. By 2:00 the sky cleared up. My battery was below 50% so I saved power for interior shots. I jump on the shuttle for the mile ride to the B29. The crowd had thinned out by now. As I left the shuttle, the driver said there was a 90 minute wait to get inside. The line was 1/8 of a mile long plus a circle around Doc. It ended up almost 100 minutes. Earlier the wait was over 2 hours and the line was over 1/4 of a mile.
