Figures are always the make or break to tell the story. Here's a base for your 1/700 scale Catalinas.

It's colorized so take that into account. There's also a Duck and a couple of Hellcats.

Wiki says the weight of P-40's are around 8000 lbs, (2700 kg). That is a lot fewer logs then I would have guessed it would take to float that. (Misread wiki, gross not empty, thx Zippythehog )

Empty weight is 5800#. Gross Take off is 8000#. All depending on the model.

If that P-40 is "clean" (which it most likely is), it can easily be barged on that raft.

AK803 was fully de-commissioned at this point, stripped of its camouflage paint with the exposed body polished. The serial number was also changed during one of its prior repairs to 1034. The P-40 was sold at the aforementioned surplus sale to George Maude, a retired member of the RCAF. He paid a mere $50 for the Kittyhawk, and brought it out to his family compound on Saltspring Island, BC with the help of the log barge seen here.
