Normandy invasion front, 1944. A Bf 109 Gustav from a III./ JG 3's is being pulled out from its cover at Sours, near Chartres.
Now, is this a G-6, G-10, G-14 or K-4?
I can't see the bulges of the G-6. So possible a G-6/AS.
Edit ... according to the Bundesarchiv it's the Bf 109 G-6/AS W.Nr. unknown "Schwarze 1", Lt. Hans-Ulrich Jung, 10./JG 3, Chartres- Sours, June -July 1944.

It's the 16th of September 1943 and this grinning gentleman is Gottfried Weiroster. The month earlier Gottfried had been
involved in the fighting of the American raid on Schweinfurt and was credited with two B17's. He's sitting in front of his
Bf 109G-6/R6 (Wn 15912) "Green 3". Not sure where he nicked that head rest. On the 26th November 1943, with his
score standing at 6, he took off on another interception of B17's over the Jade Bight at Wilhelmshaven and was never
heard from again. He is thought to have been shot down and crashing into the sea.
