Sorry mate. When I did my FAA Corsair, there was a guy over at Britmodeler who seemed to have tons of Corsair info but I don't remember who. Maybe do a search over there.

I actually came in here to edit my post with a picture added, but I will go take a look Andy. I seem to remember a post over there too. It looks to me that it might actually be there, but maybe you eagle eyes can help me figure it out. I feel like I can just barely see it, as it's mostly obscured by the ventral vent. I apologize if the photo is large, but it kind of has to be so you can see it.

As memo serves the bottom window of F4U-1s was overpainted often. The F4U-1A had there a plate riveted. But the panel lines of the window were still there.

Actually nobody will be peeping her.

Well, to show I haven't been totally idle lately, I've got the following to show you. Nothing exciting.

Plan on putting a base of black on the areas with the interior green, and yellow zinc chromate on the gear wells, followed white.

Wait until I get to the engine! These Tamiya 1/32 kits are wonderful, worth every penny (to me anyway). It's not just how detailed they are, but they're very well designed and thought out. They go out of their way to avoid even having seams to fix, and those that are there don't need much attention. The surface detail and riveting is extremely subtle as well. You really don't need to buy any extras for them, but that's always hard to do.

Here are some sprue shots.

Vought F4U-1A Corsair Review by Brett Green (Tamiya 1/32)

These recent Tamiya kits are undoubtedly the cream of the crop as far as injection molded models are concerned.

Thanks guys, and they really are John, just a shame about the cost.

Anyways, I have some actual progress for you guys! On top of this I also have the fuselage together, but I don't have it pictured. I painted everything black first, then painted interior green on top.

EDIT: Looks like I need to touch up the control stick now that I've seen the last photo...
