It's coming to life nicely now mate !
Looks like the decals are slightly out of register - the black ring is probably the initial red (for the center spot) under the blue, which wouldn't show until there's a darker background beneath the decal, allowing the translucency to betray the overlap.

Nah they're just bad mate, the red centres were desperate decals.
Some of the stencils are badly printed as well !

Sounds like the decals on my Buccaneer and Harrier kits, both early releases. Got a re-released Harrier recently, and the decals look great - printed by Cartograf.

ok been adding decals all day on and off.

the little yellow rectangles down the wing centre section had to be added individually !

Heck, I bet that was a b@ll ache - but well worth the effort, it's really coming to life now.
And yes, there is a definite 'out of register' problem with the decals, exactly the same as on the Harrier GR3 I did in the GB, for Steve. The red and white on the First Aid cross, and the white in the fin flash are the 'give aways'. It's good to see that the 'new' Harrier kit I got has 'Cartograf' decals, so hopefully Airfix have changed supplier for all their new, and re-issued kits.
It's just a shame, and damned annoying, that these problems don't show until the decals have been applied. But at least, to the naked eye, they won't be too noticeable, and won't detract from what's turning into a great model.

thanks Dogsbody.

your correct, they are not to bad to the naked eye and nobody really looks at them once done !

and again your right it was a total ballache doing all the little ones, that's why i stopped half way and started the decals on my Vampire for a bit of a break from it.....
