Used flat black enamel to create a wash for the white bays and wells and got the main gear well mounted. started on the engines. I will not understand why the model company go to such length to build an engine that is not seen. There is no maintenance stand to display it and you would have to do a lot of work to open the bays, no saying it can't be done, but a lot of work. you have to builds a lot of frame work to do it as well. Anyway intead of the onld way where you put in an intake and and an exhaust now you have the engine, complete with starter and the works.

Put together the other engine, no paints as yet and dry fitted for the pictures. You can see if some one wants to open it up there is a lot to be seen, but if not there is a lot not seen.

Ok so we have progressed on a bit here on the F-111A. I should have the decals in soon. The research on the F-111A Combat Lancer shows that the Tactical version used the M-61 Cannon in the weapons bay on all combat sorties. Really used it was installed. Hobby Boss gives you every thing but the gun. As Luck would have it I have several of the Academy F-111, (I know, it's a shocker that I have this kit as well,) and Academy was kind enough to supply a "facsimile" of the faring for the M-61 mount. Hey it's a starting point anyway. From this and a little bit of fun I will put the "gun" in. So the fun is about to start. The wings on the HB kit allow the full forward or full sweep of the wing with nothing in between. Much the same as Hasegawa's F-14 or their 1/72 F-111 series.

Yes Glenn there is a real difference between the two kits, but they can be used with each other or by themselves for a really nice build. This is mostly Academy but I used weapons from the HB kit.
