**** DONE: 1/48 F-111A - The Jet Age.

Tactical F-111's had a semi gloss black under surface, so when I found out that the combat lancers had an OD green under surface I was a bit floored. I used Testors acrylic 34087 for the under surface, after I had preped the wings and mounted the pylons, and installed the ECM pylons and gun faring. The forward ECM pylon was the hardest to find but between the Academy kit and the first F-111 in action I was able to place it. None of the other book covered the forward mount as it is not commonly used on the later models or in the later years. Seems I have a bit of a fit issue with the cockpit escape module also. Seems that the back is a hair to long (extends back maybe 1 mm. Have to work that out.

Well thanks guys but It was only getting started. I am getting near the finis on the Camo though here is a couple of update. The Acrylic paints I have are Testors and Vallejo and the color matching for Vietnam camo I trust Testors. I did not have 34202 Medium Green but I found that I did have it in Vallejo. Well it seems the 34102 in Vallejo is really 34092 Dark green. I went ahead and backed up to enamels due to the fact I have like 6 bottles of each of the three camo colors in enamels. I don't like the mess but I do love the results when they come out right.
