Thanks Wurger, but I'm not trying to be really historically accurate down to the dust on the tyres, but maybe more to the feel of captured, examined and abandoned. This photo also shows the top cover behind the engine removed and guts showing. If this kit had all that inside I think I would depict that as well. I have the time so why not ay?
 
Like the worst case with what I've got. I thought I had some 1/48th guns laying around, but not.

Beginning the hand made empty gun bay.
Used a pointed scalpel to cut the doors off the wing top surface.
PVC sheet to make the walls and zurk fitting frames. Will be making the
dividers next, gun and belt spaces. Quite fiddley.
