More on the Hellcat over the weekend. I have to say this Eduard kit is a really nice one. No problems at all with the build and the level of detail out of the box in this scale is very nice.
I got the engine and cowlings complete, and they all fitted very nicely. I am nearing the painting stage now, and all is looking good.
Paint is on. I brush paint, and what i have used is Revell acrylic gloss - Night blue, which when "tested" next to the colour profile in the instructions looked to be quite a close match. Looking at the photos i'm not sure if its a bit to blue, if that makes sense???
I see there a few touch ups required before i apply the decals, which should go on to the glossy paint well...i hope, as there are quite a few stencils to apply as well as the main insignia.
After that there will be a bit of weathering, if i'm feeling brave.
If I'm honest, it seemed a bit too blue to me as well but I'm far from an expert and am going by memory of modern warbird restorations only. Looks great though and go easy on the weathering. Start small and gradually build up.
