Are you free handing the black stripes? LOL - John

She's a gettin' checker decals John, far beyond my patience and skill set. Ole Yeller is dead.....at least the top half. Once the Canucks are done trying to stroke me out I'll do the bottom. I bought the decals for this kite while I was still a brush painter. Having sprayed this I really can't fathom how it would have turned out with a brush. The top side alone has taken about 2ml of paint with an equal amount of thinner. That filled my AB paint cup just over 2⅓ times

Thanks Andy. The blackness is complete. I dipped my bottle of X-1 Gloss Black after I had finished. It was new when I started and had 9mm of paint left. A new bottle of paint has about 18mm of paint. I'll start bring the other two up to speed once the Juniors are finished

Thanks guys. It is very odd Andy. I'm going to put off putting the decals on until I get home next week; trying to figure out the best approach on how to tackle the long checkerboard decals. I've read one build where the guy cut it into thirds. In the meantime, I painted the nose Tamiya XF-85 Rubber Black and that doomahickie behind the cockpit XF-57 Buff. The back half of the tail skid will be painted this color as well. First coat of XF-16 Flat aluminum has been added to the wheel wells and I'll do the landing gear XF-32 Titanium Silver. Ignore the lack of gloss, its a lighting thang. Do note the fit of the 3 piece clear parts, best fit ever bar none
