OK so the C-2A Greyhound it the transport for the US fleet. They run personel, supplies, and the mail out to the fleet. First produced in 1965 - 1968 the C-2A's have support the fleet as primary COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) since then, though they have had a rebuild (C-2A(R)) with upgraded propellers, glass cockpit and other upgrades. The original C-2's have been retired with the C-2A(R)'s supporting the fleet since 2010. The C-2 is a direct descendant form the E-2 Hawkeye through a wider fuselage and other subtle changes for it duties.

The Kinetic C-2A comes in a very large box and when you open the box first you notice, it's full. It comes with marking for two aircraft but I went ahead on ordered as Zotz decal set. Let'd look in the box.

Interesting choice Don! Looks like an E-2C after a head on collision - I'm presuming the Hawkeye is the stretched limo version of this?
Well not really, the E-2 is so much skinner and it seems like it is longer, but not. the Limo would be the C-2 with lots of room for both the aircrew and the cargo.
Here is the aircraft intended flying with an E-2C off the USS Constellation 2002.

Please forgive me, WWW.Navy.mil for the photo. If you have not ever tried, WWW.AF.mil and WWW.Navy.mil are super great sources for these photos.

Thanks all I hope to get going soon, It's a large kit but does not look all that involved. An interesting subject as well. Transports are the life line for any service and the Navy has very special requirements indeed. Though there have been operation trials with a C-130 landing and taking off from the USS John F. Kennedy, that did not project to work out well. The C-2 through large does fit on and can be worked on the carrier. The aircraft never stay long but fly back to their land bases and return as needed to support all the carriers in there area of operation.

I am really looking forward to this one. And, yeah, I kept at Don in our calls to stick with the C-2 as a subject.

Well be searching for so info on this critter. I did a Yahoo search and got these from the images. I needed so help from the images as the kit instructions are a bit anemic and painting instruction and If I were to use them, It would not have looked correct. The instruction call for white, while that may be a correct statement, It's far from the way it looks. What is dirty white to beige, grey is gull grey, the floor is everything from aluminum to zinc chromate to black. So here is what I'm looking at. All images are from an image search for C-2 Grayhounds
