I found a kit in my stash so I'm in. I ordered some squad code letters to make it a 418 Squadron Mossie. More later.

Here's some shots of the kit. The detail is quite nice.

A couple off notes on my chosen subject.

418 Squadron was the highest scoring RCAF squad of WW2.

I have a great little book , "Terror in the Starboard Seat", by Dave McIntosh, a truly one of a kind view of the air war as a Mosquito navigator in 418 Squad.

Also years ago when I was working demolition tearing down a house in Calgary I salvaged a 1944 edition of the "Star Weekly" with the cover artwork showing two 418 Squad Mossies flown by Canadian FL Howie Cleveland and Aussie FL CC Scherf, downing a Heinkel 111 Z. The magazine literally floated out of the attic as I was tearing down the house with an excavator. There is a good account of this action in Hugh Halliday's, "The Tumbling Sky" You can check the attached pictures.

Getting started, a few pieces together to spray on the cockpit green. I use Humbrol 78 cockpit green, in acrylic. Will work on the details today.

Always gotta love a De Havilland Mosquito, not the other ones that land around here, not not them but yours Indeed!
