Thanks again folks for all your comments :)

Painting has commenced with an all over black flat coat applied , as usual for me, with a hairy stick. A few thin coats has provided a good base for anything else i manage to throw at it.

A slight problem occurred fitting the rear section of the canopy, which if used for an open canopy option is liable to fall through the gap in the fuselage sides. The sliding section of the hood sits well over it and on the sides of the fuselage but the section it moves over needs to be glued to the pilots headrest to balance it in place. I have also assembled most of the turret which is a small kit in its own right, most of which will not be seen when insitu.

So i am moving in the right direction, and its been very enjoyable so far. Thanks for looking,

Cheers Greg

Thanks to you all for your comments, they are much appreciated 😊

I am making steady progress, and enjoying the build. It's a good kit of any of you like the Defiant. I know Trumpeter and Classic Airframes have kitted it out in 1/48 but I don't think Airfix can be outdone by these price wise.

I have started applying the decals and will.post the results shortly.

Cheers Greg 👍

Hello again,

More progress on the Defiant. Decals are on, and so is the undercarriage. No real problems to report, although there was a bit of a blip when i applied Humbrols Clear Coat as it dried a bit patchy. The markings went on without a problem and are from the kit. 264 Squadron, who flew the Defiant from its introduction in service until its last front line service.

Anyway, i am very near to completion and my next post should see her finished.

Thanks for looking, cheers Greg
