My thanks gents. :lol::lol:
A real masterpiece Vic 👌:thumbleft::thumbright:
if you allow me, unless I am mistaken, the internal frames of the canopy should be black :)
I hear you Steph but my understanding was that the earlier models were painted a light green as with the cockpit, a little later than this model they did change to a darker colour. I could be wrong on all counts and maybe Berny may be able to throw some light on the subject. :lol::lol:

Here's the little bit I've been able to find on this. MM9454 was a Breda-built machine. According to this poster the black frames seemed to be present on some Macchi-built machines and NO Breda ones.

I did some research about the canopy frames. Unfortunately, when it comes to REGIA AERONAUTICA aircraft, it is always difficult to have certainties. Again, this aircraft has things to think about. The serial number is of an aircraft built by Breda and not by Macchi. The smoke ring camouflage was made by Macchi and not by Breda (which made small spots). Then it is known that Macchi painted the frames of the roof black.
So, as mentioned, there are no certainties. On the other hand, in many photos the frames seem to be black.
So everyone is free to do as they see fit

Once again thanks Berny, it's a bit of a hit or miss conundrum and certainly a lot to consider if and when another is built. :lol:
