User name: T Bolt
Name: Glenn
Category: 2, Intermediate
Kit: Tamiya P-51D
Scale: 1/48th.

This is my first entry for the Aircraft of the Aces Group Build.

Lt. Col. Edward B. Giller flew 115 missions with the 55th fighter group between February 1943 and June 1945, flying in 5 different aircraft, all named "Millie G" and coded CY-G . One P-38J and four P-51Ds. This model will depict his first Mustang, 44-14985. Giller was credited with a total of nine kills, three air and six ground.
After the war Giller remained in the Air Force and retired to San Antonio, TX

I bought this kit about 15 years ago, but I have somehow always had something else to build, so now I am really looking forward to it.

Nice choice Glen
I'll be interested in your technique for painting the spinner, drove me nuts on the B I did
Mike
The decal sheet has the yellow checks which you are suppose to put over green paint. (Looks like another trip to the hobby shop. )

and sad it is too. remember Gents that most of the WW 2 vets are getting into their high 80's now 90's in age. My Father in law a veteran of the US navy will be 91 soon enough.

Here's the pictures of the model, decals, and resin parts. Surface detail looks excellent. I plan to build it "out of the box" except for the resin wheels and decals.
