English balloon with sheet metal container firebomb Incendiary 1942

During World War II, the United Kingdom initiated a covert campaign known as Operation Outward, which involved launching free-flying balloons equipped with incendiary devices and trailing wires to disrupt German infrastructure. This operation was a response to the accidental release of barrage balloons during a storm in 1940, which caused power outages in Scandinavia, highlighting the potential of such devices as a weapon.

View attachment 828484

The photo shows a T-35 with serial number 744-62 from the 67th Tank Regiment of the 34th Tank Division, abandoned on 26.06.1941 in Gorodok (Horodok, Gródek) near Lvov (Lviv, Lemberg) after the ammunition ran out and the main friction burned out. The tank was produced in 1939, only 3 tanks with such turrets and main turret substructure were produced. German soldiers liked to be photographed with this tank and its photos in various views are very common.
