My build for GB39, Adolf Galland's well known and photographed Bf109E-4 W.Nr.5819 is finally finished.
Adolf Galland had taken ownership of this aircraft on the 7th September 1940 just after he had achieved his 30th victory.
The aircraft is depicted on or after the 23rd September after Galland scored his 40th Victory.
At this time the rudder had the first 30 victories and the 36th and 37th victories marked in Red with the remaining bars applied in black and these were those scored in this Aircraft.
The background area behind the victory bars was still in the base RLM65 with 71 and or 02 Mottle, the rudder area above and below the bars was painted in Yellow.

For those interested in modelling Galland's W.Nr.5819 in 1/32 scale during the time period of early September through end of November, the only decals that accurately portray the JG26 badge and Kommodore markings are those found in the old Hasegawa Bf109E 'Galland'

The Mickey mouse Badge and telescopic sight were added sometime in the latter part of September or early October.
The Mickey Mouse badge was certainly present when 44 victories were present on the rudder, 11th Oct.

Thanks Guys.

Karl, I would like to do the next phase of this aircraft, before the Repaint, which adds the Mickey Mouse emblem, telescopic sight, capped spinner and different rework of the victory markings......
