If anyone wants them I have the same type of photos for the Colling B-17G, BUT, Dose anyone have a set of the same Flak Alley decals for this kit and does not want to use the Flack Alley? I can use and do the slight mod of the nose art for the starboard side of the aircraft, or atleast a reasonable attempt. have to move three flack burst.

Well my decals came in today.

This is part one of a two part series Dave did on the 1 Aug 1943 Ploesti mission. The set also has a 6 page (12 1/2 page) information and instructions.

How nice, for how many different aircrafts did you get in the package? ... 5?

OK so I shot the interior green through out the aircraft and then used siver, white and black colored pencils to work in so ware and black boxes and wiring into this old tired bomber. Not totally sure how I like it but not too bad as yet.

Molded on wiring is a beast to paint convincingly. Add a wash to it but if its not going to be visible you could ignore it

A very fine brush and lots of patience does the trick. Not too shabby Don.

Do you use enamel or acrylic for fine work Andy. When I use acrylic I find it blobs up a few millimetres above the tip and when I try to lightly get rid of the blob on some paper tower, it more times than not removes most of the paint

Those interiors look good.
It has always been difficult for me to paint the wiring, but as Andy and George say, with a lot of patience, a fine brush and preferably enamel paints, you will improve the finish.
I even helped with a dark wash of oil paintings ... That disguises my bad pulse and paint outside the cables.

Thanks all, so now a question on how the best way to paint the yellow strip on bombs. Never get that well and decals sometimes can help if they are for the ordnance you are doing. I'm not really sure I need to worry about it though. I seen several WWII photos that I don't see the strip on the bomb indicating they are live. Any inputs?

These are all I've seen...

If the bomb has a single yellow stripe, I've seen articles where the area was sprayed yellow, an appropriately sized o-ring fitted and then O.D. was sprayed on the bomb

For bomb stripes I normally paint the stripe colour, then mask and paint the bomb.
