Or glue it to the base using CA. That way, it can easily be removed, if required, by sliding a scalpel blade between the base and the wheels.
 
Now you have several options to easily solve that your bird remains alone on her 3 tires.

This one did not want to mate port and starboard fuselage halves. I had to work it one section at a time and then go back and redo it again. but I muscled through it bit by bit I had to run some strip in a few places to beef up the seams but I think she'll hold.
