Cockpit done and mounted.

Working on drop tanks, ALQ 99 pods and fuselage configurations. This includes at this point exhaust channels and a few other tine (nose gear well. I took all the gear and shot it what
to se all the knock out points and they are a mess..

Shot it Insignia white and they a clear coat of floor polish. I have then added a black wash on top of that.

Great looking cockpit but oh my! What a lot of ejector marks and all in the wrong place.

Getting quite a bit done last couple days.
I picked up the Wolfpack avionics upgrade to the kit. I am not really interested in the side bays being open but I am intrigued with the raedome being open.

Having a He77 of a time getting it to stick. too little space and not enough support. Normally the raedome would hold it but I've added the bulkhead from wolfpack which has been a pain in the a$$ as well but you know resin stuff!!!!!

Hopefully it's drying in place.

Next I cut the wings for the fold.

Well now I just added four more parts to my kit

That seems to be My kind of kit......................... teach it a lesson and beat it into submission!
Open gaps and shim. Adding strips underneath to span gaps. Arrrrrr matey!

Had to work spine seam and putty and sand.

Shot first set of 35044 insignia blue today

The canopies should have a yellow (gold) tint.

This has not gone well!!

That is a lovely deep blue. I've only ever done the clear colours spray once and did it very light and slow until I had the colour needed.

Well, well, well. Attempted the kit decals.. My though was shoot the blue, clearcoat the blue and lay down the strip and clear coat and then mask to the correct colors. So I did the blue and clear coat and than I put the water on the coffee warmer and waited. Water warm and lay the decal in face down, AND IT BREAKS UP!!!!!

I tried to save it but it was just WAY to thin.

They broke even more attempting to apply.

BUT ALAS all is not lost.. Though I had wanted the more colorful set, I do have "Fightertown" decals in the subdued paint scheme. If this doesn't work I have other markings to use.

Shot the tail blue and awaiting the drying so as to clear coat.....

That's a bit of a blow Don, I hate doing these sorts of decals and I get quite nervy when I have to place them, if they don't do what yours have done. To be honest, even though it's a painful process, I'd be doing the mask and spray now.
