I decided to make the under canopy antennas that are seen in a few pictures of the Alaskan based F-82s. I could find very few clear pictured of them and the best of them are shown below. The right and left cockpit antenna were somewhat different from each other.

The first 3 pictures are of the left cockpit and the fourth one is of the right cockpit

The last pictures is what I managed to put together from some thin lead wire, a bit of plastic and some dabs of white glue. Not perfect, but close enough.

Mine made from Lead wire. The right one extends further back because I needed a way to support it

Very nice

Put the canopies on last night. A bit more trouble than I thought it would be but came out ok. Still need to blend in the windscreens

I'm thinking of changing the title of this thread from Twin Mustang to Deja Vu Mustang. I spend a lot of time doing one operation and then have to do the same thing over again, time after time. :evil4:

The 32 vent holes in the nose drilled out with a pin vice x2 sides x2 noses =128 holes. My fingers hurt

The canopies all faired in and masked x2

The 2 fuselages joined together, but not without problems. The right fuselage glued to the wing without too much trouble, but the left side needed a whole lot of persuasion and is far from perfect.

Some of the problems. The step in the underside joint is much worse than it looks in the picture

A whole lot of filling, filing and sanding ahead of me.
