Surely I should post more progress. Roger.

The wings have been secured to the fuselage and the gun panels installed. However, I'm not 100% happy with the fit at the wing root. A shim or two on the port side might have helped but it's too late now.

The other side is much better so not sure what happened here. At any rate, a few passes of sandpaper should make things better.

Thanks for the looks and like guys.

Progressing nicely. I'm a little bit surprised about the fit on these Eduard kits as I was under the impression that they were Tamiya standard. Looking forward to the next bit.

Thanks again everyone.

It could very well have been my fault, as I glued the upper wing half to the top of the wheel well rather than leaving it free to adjust. I would still rate the quality of fit very high.

This morning I took a file and some sandpaper to the port wing root seen above in an attempt to smooth it down a bit. Here's the result, though a shot of paint will be needed to see how it really looks. The panel line and rivets in the center of the pic were added back at the same time.

With the root done, I added the horizontal stabs and rudder.

The starboard stab's root fit is not great but work to correct it will be minor. I was about to file off the ridge on the leading edge of the root fairing but thought I would check my references first as it appears to be deliberately moulded like that.

Hopefully I'll gain some momentum on this build again now that much of the fitting is done.

Thanks guys. The instrument panel was put together a while back but I had to paint the coaming before assembly. Now we're at that point.

And now with the gun sight added:

Kinda hard to see in the shadows above but Eduard even provided the tiny lamps that illuminate the instrument panel. Finally, the panel and coaming are glued into the fuselage:

I dry-fitted the windscreen over all this and it's a very good fit. I will need to be very careful with the glue as there's a risk that it will seep up in the narrow space between the glass and the coaming. I'll sleep on that and come up with a plan.

Thanks for stopping by guys.
