An electronic warfare/electronic countermeasures (EW/ECM) version of the Intruder was developed early in the aircraft's life for the United States Marine Corps, which needed a new ECM platform to replace its aging F3D-2Q Sky Knights. An EW version of the Intruder, initially designated A2F-1H (rather than "A2F-1Q", the "Q" having been split to stand for passive electronic warfare and "H" for active) and later redesignated the EA-6A, first flew on 26 April 1963. This version had AN/ALQ-86 Bunker-Ramo electronic countermeasures equipment, with most of the electronics contained in the walnut-shaped pod atop the vertical stabilizer. It was fitted with an AN/APQ-129 fire control radar and was theoretically capable of firing the AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation missile, although it was apparently not used with this fin. The navigation radar was the AN/APN-153.

Only 28 EA-6As were built (2 prototypes, 15 new units and 11 conversions from existing A-6A aircraft). They served in Marine Corps squadrons in Vietnam. This one was withdrawn from front-line service in the mid-1970s, but continued to be in use in Marine Corps reserve units and then in the US Navy mainly for training work. The last one was retired completely in 1993.

Thank you all for the welcome.

We started well, the plastic is deformed, it doesn't have the right shape and the pieces don't fit together as they should, and on top of that it's very, very brittle, as you can see that the fuselage has broken into 3 parts on one side, nothing serious really but more work, I haven't advanced more than the plastic allows me since having to put it in its position every time I glue a new piece, it needs the glue to dry well so that it doesn't break the union...
Even though it is as it is at the moment, it is drying the belly that has its own thing so that it stays well...

After 5 days adjusting everything to close the fuselage, it is as I told you, in the process of gluing the belly.

thanks to all...

I'm still slowly adjusting everything so that I have to putty as little as possible, even though the job will be hard and long... I'm continuing with another batch of photos.
In addition to the plastic breaks because everything is under tension and it's of poor quality, I've tested a leftover piece and just by applying glue it has flaked and broken without any tension... so we'll fight with that too... there has to be something about cheap... that's why it cost 200% less than all the others I've seen, there must be a reason... I know why... I'm afraid to get the f4e which is the same... the same brand, the same supplier and cheap cheap... that's why I haven't put it in this GB either so as not to get into a fight like that again...

"if when happiness is good..." as we say here

Modeling is what it is, not all are idyllic models, besides I like this job like this, leaving something decent out of this piece of plastic is something that fills more than a good mold... at least for me...
I bring you the photos of how I'm working on them and how I'm having to fight and fight...

Thank goodness I have the electric sander that my wife gave me!!!!
