If it's not too late you could very lightly dry brush the RLM66 with a lighter gray to lighten it up

I'm going to have to touch it up Glenn, so I'll lightennit slightly when i do that.
Paint is on, ready for the crossed stripes !
I'll test my painting technique on a scrap bit of Spitfire wing i have.

Ok, so on closer inspection the diagonal stripe pattern is much more complicated than i first thought.
Forward of the exhaust the stripes meet every third one.
After the exhaust they meet every forth stripe, this is complicated again as the fuselage narrows and widens for the tail !
Stripes going backwards from the bottom will be slightly more straight forward than those going in the other direction.
Stripes are roughly 1mm wide and roughly 4 mm apart.

Hoping once i start the first few going in the opposite direction, it will be sort of intuitive where the next goes.
4mm strips of tape 1mm apart, how hard can it be

So first attempt, pretty happy, you know i might just pull this off !
The stripes look slightly thinner than eduards paint guide, but are in the right areas and with the Tatzelwurm over them they might just work.

I think if i try to thicken the stripes very slightly, it's going to look better.

I think thats improved it enough to stop fiddling !
