Crimea_River Crimea_River your build in that thread is excellent!

Looking at yours realized I like the looks of the open cowl vs the closed that I opted with
But the kit is going together well with just a little bit of putty and finishing so far

First time I've tried the mr hobby finishing surfacer (I mixed black and white for the gray, which I think was the underlying primer colour?), but the primer itself is excellent

As I'm close to laying down the camouflage I've spent the past few days searching profiles and learning a bit of the factories, the differences between them and the variations of the late war schemes & paints. Side stepping the RLM 83 Blue for the moment, there certainly is a fair bit of different information and actual scheme variances on these Dora's

Between here, a couple of other sites and referencing close W.Nr. profiles & builds, particularly Blue 12, 500670 (this is a great build some time ago)

Using that as reference as well as the all the other profiles and information from all you guys, my plan for the scheme is based on Blue 12 and your excellent summary here Andy

Thanks Gents

I've been off work the past couple of days and was able to make some pretty good progress, really enjoying it so far
while the kit has issues, it's going together well and the paint going down well, such an interesting scheme

rlm75 on the leading edge underside of the wing, Tamiya flat aluminum remainder of the wing
AK rlm76 (late) on the sides and lower fuselage
light gray on the wings

up next is the upper camo and the wings
I was back and forth for a while on the wings, and still am to a certain extent - 74/75 or 76/81 or light gray/81 or light gray/83
most likely I'll go with light gray/83

thank you gents, as mixed up as it is i'm really enjoying painting this one, and luftwaffe camo in general is an art form

and my thinking is similar to yours George, from what I've read so far light gray / dk green seems to be the noisy consensus :)
