Grumman F6F-5 prototype

Here is an old Lindberg kit in 1/72 scale done up as the prototype for the F6F-5. The fuselage interior,smaller rear window and the landing gear are the main modifications. Eventually the rear window was completely done away with. I did this one as I liked the "TEST" markings on the fuselage. There was really no prototype for the -5, just the first couple of test aircraft.
