Hans-Joachim Marseille Bf 109F-4 from Trumpeter kit in 1:32

Hi everybody, despite I'm involved in several running modelling project, last Summer I had the opportunity to purchase the above kit at a very good price and I didn't resisted to starting a new model.
Following are some pictures of the w.i.p.

White putty and arrows denote areas that I had to modify because Trumpeter kit in reality represent a G-2 plane.

I went a bit further: assembled nearly all main items, then covered with an hand of primer and finally painted wheel wells and lower surfaces with Kcolors RLM 78.

Got to this point, I have a question about painting: demarcation between RLM 78 and RLM 79 was soft or solid? The plane I'm trying to replicate is the following

Hi Alberto, it's nice to see this process and I like what you've been up to now (those cockpit interiors look great).
Regarding your question, you can see several images of Bf109 with desert schemes, and among drawings, reconstructed airplanes and real photographs of that time, you can see that the union of the colors in your chosen scheme (IMHO) is closer to solid , that to soft.
It is certain that someone will have more knowledge about it.

Hello! After the above exchange of messages, I managed to purchase a book dedicated to Marseille planes, see below. It's very good with a lot details very well explained. Therefore I went on with RLM78 on lower surfaces and RLM79 on the upper ones.
