    ok been fiddling with this for a while now but with the house move in 6 weeks i needed to get it finished !

    Airfix 1/48 kit which is past its best but is not bad when finished

    Nice one old boy. If Airfix slightly re-tooled and up-dated the kit, it could be a very good one, but as you say, with a bit of work, it's not bad when done. I'm 'watching' the old Revell 1/32nd scale GR1 on the 'Bay', with a view to converting to GR3 standard, if I decide to go for it.

    Probably a lot of work - the kit is from the early 1970s, so more than likely raised rivets etc, and basic detail, plus the original 'pointy' nose and gimmicks like the 'complete' engine with removable panels. But could be a good project, if I'm able to mould a new nose, correct a few faults and add some detail.
