WOW! This a great Forum!! My name is Bill, I go by 300hnh on this and several other forums.

We (my son and I) found this site doing a google search on January 14, 1945.

One of the links we came up with was:
http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/aviation/details-january-14-1945-a-7158.html
I have some things to add to that thread.

My uncle, Sidney Stitzer, was a pilot with the 20th Fighter Group, 55th Squadron in Kingscliffe, England. Sid had one kill to his credit from the big battle on January 14, 1945. Sid shot down a FW190.

Unfortunately Sid was killed while straffing a train on February 20, 1945.

Fortunately I have the 20th Fighter Group's book Kingscliffe; and his letters home to his sister (my mom), the tell me more about him and what he did.

One of my big goals in life is to ride in a B-17 and a P-51.

My son Andrew may also be joining this forum. He is very big on the IL2 aircraft game.

I guess you could say that we are a couple of frustrated wan-ta-be fighter pilots. Just born a few decades too late and with poor eyes to boot! LOL

I am looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi Bill, and welcome from England. Coincidentally, I've just completed a model of a 20th FG P38, to use as a subject for one of my paintings.
