The title of this thread kinda says it all. I had been trying to define bravery, in the military sense, and this hits the nail on the head. When I was in the Navy we were transitioning from the old re3cip helicopter, SH34-J to the SH3-A jet in our training squadron. We had had a couple of high speed water crashes and loss of pilots, or crewmen. I was aircrew in training. One night we had a may-day call, we scrambled and set off on a search, middle of the night. Not a second thought for our own safety, we just wanted to find our ship mates.
