Hi, here we are with the NM finish.
I sprayed everything with KCOLORS CHROME 60 STEEL, the different background colour make the difference.
It looks to me to be a bit too shiny, compared with available pictures and I think I will have to do something to tone it down.

Nice work Alberto.
It may be a touch shiny at the moment, but wait a week or so before deciding to do any toning down. Metallic paints always look very 'bright' when first applied but, just like real metal, the surface oxidises slightly after time, and 'dulls down' a little.
I sprayed my 1/48th scale RCAF F-104 about a year ago, when it looked almost like chrome in parts, and it has now 'settled down' to a more realistic, albeit polished, finish. A B-17 I painted about 20 years ago, now looks much more like 'weathered' alloy.

Many thanks Terry for your advice, by the way there is a point I have to consider: before painting other colours, like olive drab on the nose. it is suggested with these paints to give a coat of clear gloss and this will probably seal the metallic shine, but I will surely wait for at least a week because I just sent yesterday my order for the clear smoke I will use in case.

Hi,
I did something on this build as well.
First I sprayed some clear black color, they call it "candy black" at Kcolors.
Then a clear coat, here I used Klear Kote Gloss from Alclad 2, it worked very well and finally I masked and sprayed olive drab where requested.
Here some pictures, unfortunately not too good due to incorrect light.

Next step will be to spray the red markings on wing-tip tanks and the red strip on the fuselage to replicate this:
I'm currently working to produce suitable masks for the markings.
Yellow, blue and red strips as well as roundels, squadron badge and individual number are available from a Tauromodel decal sheet.

Hi everybody,
I did some progress here in the mean time.
Some decals are in place on the fuselage, including the Italian roundels, but for decorations on tip tanks and fin-rudder I had to go with masking tape and spray-gun, look here the work in progress.
Many thanks for your attention.

A different story about large decals like wing roundels, squadron badge and buzz number.
I started with wing roundels, they are 34 mm in diameter and I got them from the dedicated Tauromodel sheet.
BIG PROBLEM.
Those decals are too stiff, very resistant but really too stiff. On the first one I have applied I tried to soften her with Microscale MicroSol, Model Master Sol and Mr.Mark Softer, no way!.
OK, I decided I will paint them.
I made my vinile masks with my little plotter: the output isn't too bad as you can see here following.
For buzz number and squadron badge I asked a guy to make them for me, I know that they will be neat and very thin.
