I actually think they are quite beautiful, especially now when they are not so fat as they will be in a few weeks. But they do have a nasty bite as Terry alredy showed.
Okay, haven't posted much lately (as a matter of fact at all on the forum), so here a picture of the river Merwede, just south of my house. Dordrecht is an 'island' in the sense that it is a piece of land surrounded by big rivers. To my south we have some 'polder' (reclaimed land), then a unique nature area called Biesbosch, which has it's origin in a big flood in the 15th century. Then there is the river Merwede. I was walking though the Biesbosch on the dyke separating the land from the river. The weather was pretty bad, but the sun sometimes hinted that it was still there. This was such a moment. Little bit under exposed as to not get a white-out, so in reality it was slightly less dark.
