yeah, the base does not help it....too dark and shiny...takes something away from the model.

Next up....Skyraider...possibly the same modeller as the Betty....note the type of base....if it is the same person then the Skyraider is a level or two below the Betty in the final finish/presentation as there are clearly things that indicate an average modeller still with plenty to learn? While the Betty appears considerably better and a jump forward in skill level....?

Certainly not as nice as the Betty. The base is still pretty foul as well.

Yup, I agree. The gloss finish puts me off a bit and the black anti-glare apnel was done free-hand with no masking.

Interesting. This modeller perplexes me. There are some aspects that are fairly advanced and others that "just starting" basic. The dicotomy between these skills makes me think that the modeller is likely very young. And if that assumption is true, then both models are actually VERY well done.

Both quite nice clean finishes, but not sure I like the gloss finish on the Skyraider, looks like it got in the way of the hair spray

Just maybe it is a younger modeller and the Skyraider was in fact built well before the Betty and both entered together...for the first time?? or as David said 2 different people and maybe one supplied the other a base??

Agree with all. The base(s) I think maybe came from the dashboard of a Trabant, owned by a nouveau riche Russian in the late 1980s !!
