Come on now Wayne!It's got some gloss on the cowling but should it have some gloss?My thought is that AC in combat would always be flat unless brand new and even then maybe semi.

Paint used on early Japanese Zero's had a gloss finnish, that is the Blue-Black used on the cowling and the grey-Green colour illustrated on this particular zero, the dark greens that began to appear later were in varying degrees of finish depending on the talc content used in the Green.

I think I kinda know what you may be talking about.Just this morning watching a movie from the 90's and thinking it seemed eons ago.Could it be that a certain storm took so many lankmarks and memories to a watery grave in the GOM?
