Melbourne Model Expo (2010) (3 Viewers)

Yes and yes. The idea was trialled to extend the glider range for assaults, and give fighter cover.
Always thought the DFS glider must have been a strong machine, to support the weight, and stresses, of a '109 on top.

Next up ...an ICM Spitty I think...?

Nice ones matey! The Mistel had me think 'what the h...!?'

Yep, it's an ICM kit. Nicely done, but a bit heavy on the panel lines maybe. Also, by that period, VHF radio was in use, so no antenna wire.
Vic, it's a HF MkVII, so the extended wing tips were for high altitude flight.

I agree with Terry on the panel lines. I see the entrant also had the dihedral problem Terry I had to deal with, except that he didn't. The wings appear to have zero, if not negative, dihedral.

Nice!

Don't recognise the markings either but still a good build.

At that time, they probably flew whatever they could get. If it isn't Burma, then it's either Indonesia, or what was Siam.
I recognise them, but can't remember exactly who's they are - have to look it up in my refs !

Nice and I think the markings could have been Thailand in Japanese Occupation
