Taking up the process (I was away for work) :shockingzap:

I hope not to be boring

, but try to be as clear as possible for those who try for the first time or see it as an option in their modeling techniques.
And will always be welcome comments and suggestions from the experts on the forum. :arrow:

To get started in this of chipped and apply a few techniques for this purpose ... give a good painted around the hydroairplne base with AS-12 Bare-Metal Silver Tamiya.

for the same effect paint the cowling and the same tone for the final color of the cone and propeller.

a real photo ...

let the silver color cure for 3 days and gave him a coat of varnish to further protect the silver when applying salt and liquid mask for chipped and exterior colors ...

Use a lime to remove the blade wider needle. To retrieve the pin hole damage suffered.

Black introduce yellow needle, at least to cover the sharp tip (the edged serves to facilitate the maneuver)

I had not tried ... and cut the needles with the Dremel was very simple :thumbleft:

(IMPORTANT consider the best personal protection measures-most clean place obstacles operating the Dremel, safety glasses, tweezers to manipulate the needles, good lighting, etc.)

3) The back of the propeller blades are in a matte tone, a little research could see normally (at least the Japanese), painted it black or dark brown ... and I found this picture:

So use them as a reference, I masked to paint that section

Avoiding the classic matte black, the colors chosen, diluted and mixed to 50% ..

Let it dry and see how they look and will soon upload more of the process ...

Lacking models "Conejillos de Indias" (do not know how you say in English

...- guinea pigs -, - test articles -, - surplus -.. Etc) ... I have completed only 6 planes in my new era ... and I have endeavored to everyone, as for "arriezgarlos" or screw up the lateness on this onealthough all have a remedy, I better avoid it - lol - :!:

... I decided to do some tests, for which I used a piece and plastic to resemble as much as possible panels and rivets aircraft ... I worked with.

Let the pictures who speak:

I did not put "Primer" to my Hydro (only I polished and washed conscientiously) before applying the metal color ... so I'll try a difference to test it with "Primer" applied to half of my "Conejillo de Indias". Sanded, and polish then apply silver.

We let the paint cure ... while I will work on further developments ...

I painted the wheels of the transport cart, watching and trying to understand the best possible the images found ... I concluded that the "wheels" have been a "solid rubber" and painted with Humbrol 33 Matt Black and 27 Matt and Sea Grey (if anyone has knowledge or experience, I appreciate your comments on these tires)

So far this brief preview.

, as I mentioned, in this model I want to apply some new techniques for me and I want to do with time and dedication.

And I want to leave witness to how I did, in addition able to offer the choices to who is interested and receive feedback which is required.

I appreciate your comment and interest in my project. If your question refers to the color of the fuselage to take my Nakajima, my intention is to make the version of:

11th Air Flotilla (Embarked on Seaplane Tender Kamikawa Maru)
Shortland Iseland Seaplane Base, Solomon Islands.
September - November 1942

And the seaplane has the light gray in its entirety and the cowling in characteristic blueish black (black Aotake)

(It's a retouched photo and the colors are not reliable, but gives us an idea)

I will need your advice and recommendations :idea:

, I will put all my effort and I want this Japanese be the start of my modeling seriously.

I will take advantage to post the progress I have.

I prepared cockpit pieces for painting, first color inside the cabin.

the well known combination of these colors.

In the next picture is observed the last time I saw the left aileron actuator.

during the last general cleaning to the airplane when I realized it was gone the mini-Piece !! :cry:

. Search it was useless so I looked a branch that had the approximate dimensions and practiced the "mini-esculturismo" (miniature sculptures) and try to "duplicate" the piece with the reference of the right actuator. :shock:
