Great stuff Bill....

Anyone have any idea how to have a mixed formation in IL@???

Example:
Red Flight
D-10
D-10
D-5
B-15 w/ Malcom, so use P-51C for this skin....

Yellow Flight
D-10
B
D-10
B-15 w/Malcom, so -51C again

Besides making seperate flights for the different aircraft, what can I do??? Any pointers??

I personally haven't found a way to mix a/c types in a flight. What I have done, is mirrored the waypoint assignments and placed one or two a/c in direct proximity (seperated few a few extra meters for safety) and grouped them together to give the illusion that they are the same flight...

It's a pain in the arse to write this into a full-blown mission, but it gives a good effect.

And if there is a MOD for this, I'd sure like a copy!

I just researched Tony Woods lists for 2AD. There were six B-24's awarded, two actually shot down, in the Giessen-Marburg-SW Kassel area.

The claimers from 1145 through 1203 were
11./JG300@ 1145
9./JG53@1147 by Anon (KIA a few minutes later)

9./JG300@1155, 11./JG300@1200, 10./JG53@1200, 11./JG53@1202 (these times tie into the bounce from Yellow and Red Flight) - all in Marburg area matching up to encounter reports and German loss lists for JG53 (I don't have JG300)

The Giessen area stuff is farther behind the 355th escort position so the Marburg claims most likely to be the ones the 354 Red/Yellow flights bounced ans includes 9. 11./JG300 plus 9. 10. 11./JG53 plus StabIII./JG53

Strictly speaking all the scores from these two flights were made by P-51D's (Marshall, Brown, Priest) and the rest of the air scores in 354 and 358 were also D's. B's got a couple on the ground but none in the air.

Almost done with Rafferty's WR-P, I just noticed the serial number is "bunched" and I am having a heck of a time finding a good image showing the "Iowa Beaut" noseart...

Perfect!!

I knew the script was red, because you can catch a hint of it in the color photo, but that first B&W photo shows it perfectly! They're both kicka** photos, but the first is phenominal!

Thanks for posting those, Bill!

Those two shots are my favorite. Lee mendenhall is slow timing a new engine in the Iowa Beaut (old WRA Man OWar).

It literally went in to Service hanger as WRA Man O War, Kinnard got the first P-51D-5 as the new Man O War, and this pic was taken maybe hours after P replaced A but the guys forgot to take the kill markings off before the slow time flight..

Here is the new WR-A. Look closely because Kinnard 'gave' this D-5 to Henry Brown to become WR-Z.

When Kinnard went to 4th FG to replace Blakeslee, his QPA had close to the same camo scheme - on the 1/32 Hasegawa P-51D 44-14292. Curiously his 4th FG Mustang was one digit off WR-B Jane II 44-14293.

Dude, she looks beautiful, ready to pick up that #4 slot I got ready for her takin out of Steeple Morden.... If anything, and I dont know squat about skins David, can we make these crates kind of dirty/weathered/chipped some??? Is it a big deal to age them some???

Only 7 other positions to fill and we got us the Red and Yellow Flights of the 354th FS....

Found a skin of Browns crate, HUn Hunter.... The rudder needs to be white tho, as well as checking the # of kills, there should be 24 kills on it....

Bill, hows this one look???

Henry didn't put his old "The Hun Hnter ~ Texas" on WR-Z until after 9/27 (if ever). The shot above is very close to 9/11 look except fill in two more 'red flag/white circle' swastikas on second row and put four more starting the third rowSept 10.

The 18 shown co-incidentally are the 18 that Kinnard had on that same ship. Brown destroyed 6 on the ground on the way back from Ulm on.

Attached is a pic of Williamson, Mendenhall, Lenfest and Brown before 9/10 with the 18 scores on it. In the background is WRB Jane III.

Attached is a pic of the nose with his crew chief Braun and Fortier's cc McKibben. This is between sept 28 and October 3. He got 3 on 9/11, 1 over Warsaw on 9/18 (all 109s) and 2 Fw 190s around Kassel on Sept 27 - from one of the Sturm's.

As you can see, one week before he goes down to flak, the 'The Hun Hunter ~ Texas" is still not in the red arrow and I have no evidence it ever was.

Thanks!

I'll finalize all the skins with weathering/age and stuff before they go into service, so gotcha covered there!

I had a heck of a time with the "The Iowa Beaut" noseart. I ended up taking the actual image from that great shot Bill posted, and worked it over in Photoshop. So what you see on that skin is the real deal!

Bill, so the first 2 rows have 10 kills and the 3rd row has 4 from the front, the red arrow has nothing written in it, and of course, the white rudder??

David, the skin looks tits man, and the writing even better... I actually thought it looked real sharp compared to some.... How tight and detailed can u make the kills??? Good enough for the tight closeups I like to use???

Dan - If you send him my 'undiluted' side profiles (at 3.5MB) the damn things will really zoom in for detail. David could lift the kill markings the same way he nailed Iowa Beaut. Before I put the 'descriptions' on lower left side of view, all the NMF Mustangs come to me at 5.5MB. I also think the kill markings for WR-Y Dragon Wagon are really distinctive!

and yes on the 10-10-4. You can see in the last photo taht with the six he picked up on 9/11 9/18 and 9/27 that he had three rows 10-10-10.

Great job David!
